Here is an article about shallow lake management, and I can see where many opinions come from, and I can also see where boating may not be allowed on Lizard Lake after it is finished.
Here is the article.

The reason I say boating may not be allowed on Lizard Lake after wards, is because of the depth of the lake. With a mean depth of 4.8 feet, boating at high speeds may help to bring back the sediment, and block the plant growth. This would only help to put Lizard Lake back to it's current state, minus the carp and the bullhead.
In the plans for shallow lake management, what will be the rules on boating, and water recreation, have they been thought out, or has any plan been set in place for this? Is their a preventive plan in place to help maintain the water clarity to prevent sediment and algae growth? If cattails begin to take over the lake, won't they take the oxygen away from the water preventing fish growth? If existing plant life is buried under sediment at Lizard Lake, how will they stimulate the new plant growth, without increasing the cattail population?
Is their a detailed step-by-step plan that gives dates, and lengths of time of when everything will start to happen at Lizard Lake? If their is when will this be made public, or is it already public? If it is can I receive a copy? Will land owners be informed before the lake is drained? mosquito's love shallow water is their a plan to prevent them from over populating the area. Drained lakes, and dead fish smell extremely bad, are land owner going to be reimbursed for having to deal with the smell, and this situation?
What is the time period of draining the lake, and how long will it take to refill the lake? When can we expect the new dam to be built, and the fish barrier in place?
Just a few more questions that I have been asked by others, in conversations, and think need to be answered.
